Vernon Earl Dozier

Earl Dozier, 92, of Callisburg, passed away August 21, 2022 in Gainesville, Texas.

Earl was born April 11, 1930 in Callisburg.  After graduating from Gainesville High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  Mr. Dozier had various occupations in the oil field and maintained a farm and ranch.  He enjoyed traveling in his free time.  Mr. Dozier was a member of Callisburg Church of Christ.

Survivors include: son Mark Dozier and wife Brenda of San Marcos; son Billy Dozier and wife Donna of Callisburg; daughter Vernetta Horn of Whitesboro; grandchildren: Kristy Covey and husband Michael, Amanda Burlison and husband Amasa, Brian Dozier and wife Monica, Autumn Rohde and husband Brian, and Jeff Dozier; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dozier was preceded in death by: parents Luther and Alice (Weldon) Dozier; wife Mary Dozier; granddaughter Neely Dozier; great-grandson Nash Rohde; sister Evelyn Dennis; sister Gaynelle Fellers; and son-in-law Sonny Horn.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Callisburg Church of Christ.  A committal service with military honors will follow at Callisburg Cemetery.  The family will receive friends the evening of Tuesday, August 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are: Bob Fellers, Ken McClellan, Craig Hough, Danny Morrison, Gary Hollowell, Lynn Stiles, and Keith Williams.
