Funeral services for Wanda Lou Almon, 84, of Gainesville, are set for 11:00 AM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Fox officiating.
A world of talent left this Earth when Wanda passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Denton.
Mrs. Almon was born in Kilgore. Her parents were Clifford S. and Hazel (Monroe) Ramseyer. She married Harold Andrew Almon on March 15, 1953 in Morton, Texas.
Wanda is survived by her husband Harold Almon of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Janice and Chuck Edmonson of Tyler; daughter Jeanette Almon of Fort Worth; daughter Joanne Colson of Gainesville; son Harold Almon II of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn White of Kemp and two “adopted” children, Betsy Burleson of Paris and Christina Miller of Los Angeles, CA.
Mrs. Almon was preceded in death by her parents; brother Clifford Ramseyer; sister Beverley White; sister Louise Stevens.
Wanda was an accomplished musician, playing her grand piano often. She traveled with and accompanied the Midland Community Theatre Troupe to Ireland to perform. She played at many weddings and funerals over the years. Until just a couple of years ago, she still taught piano out of her home. Her many talents included being an amazing seamstress, costumer, and artist of many disciplines. She will be dearly missed by her family and especially by her loving husband of 65 years.
