Wilbur John Hunt

WILBUR “JOHN” HUNT ,  82 , of VALLEY VIEW , Texas  passed away April 24, 2024  at Renaissance Care Center in  Gainesville , Texas . He was born on October 2, 1941 in JENNINGS , Louisiana  to Wilbur Hunt and Anne  (Broussard) Hunt.

John was a man of education with multiple degrees including a Master's Degree of Science and a Master's Degree of Education. Additionally, he got his realtor license and a certificate in nursing home administration.  He met the love of his life, Narca in 1975 and they married in May of 1976. Over the years, John was employed as principal of the alternative schools in Weatherford and Sanger, Texas. He was the superintendent at Walnut Bend in Cooke County, taught art, and was a substitute teacher at Valley View High School. John enjoyed spending time with his family, teaching, art and meeting with his masonic lodge as he was the Grandmaster.

John is survived by his son, Jerry Barthold and daughter, Cindy "Consuelo" Marley, multiple grandchildren; Brandy (Matt) Hoskins and their son, Aiden, Jonathan Liedtke, and Henry Liedtke.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Narca Hunt, his parents, Wilbur and Anne (Broussard) Hunt, his grandson, Andrew Liedtke and his great-grandson, Aidan Andrew Liedtke.

The family will receive friends at George J. Carroll & Son Chapel in Gainesville, Texas on Tuesday, April, 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral services to follow beginning at 11:00 a.m.
