Willie (Billie) Byrd Couch Brammer

June 27, 1926 — September 1, 2019

Passed on to Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 1 after 93 years as a rancher, a secretary, a teacher, an accountant, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a world traveler. She was better known as “Billie” to her close friends and answered to Bill by her 3 sons. Billie was a patient and dedicated Grandmother to her grandchildren and loved being a Great-Grandmother.

Billie was born on June 27, 1926 to William Couch and Effie Byrd Couch in Canton, Texas. She married Garrett Brammer on October 10, 1947 and left the wedding in a new red Lincoln convertible.

Billie received a Masters Degree in Education at North Texas State College. Afterward she taught fourth grade in Thackerville, OK for 10 years and first grade at McMurray Elementary School for 20 years.

She was a member of Whaley Memorial United Methodist church for 59 years.

Billie is survived by her three sons: Gary Michael Brammer, Larry Robert Brammer, and Steven Ross Brammer; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith Brammer; her special friends Goran and Klara Witt; her grandchildren: Lauren Brammer Carter, Madison Brammer, Beth Brammer Robinson, Matthew Brammer, and Christopher Brammer.

She has 7 great-grandchildren: Layton, Marlow, Tallulah, Garrison, Gavin, Blakely, and Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 3 sisters: Lorene Pinkerton, Naoma Estes, and Ruth Rusk.

Graveside services will be held in Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Whaley Methodist Church.  Appreciation is given to Muenster Memorial Hospital for the love, care, and diligence given to Billie during her terminal illness.
