Meagan Elisa Flaherty

Funeral services for Meagan Elisa Flaherty, 31, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Ben Willingham officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Meagan Elisa Flaherty went to be with Her Lord on Sunday March 13th 2016 after a graceful battle with Leukemia. She was born December 18, 1984 in San Antonio to Brian and Mary K. (Hanson) Flaherty. She was a member of the 2003 graduating class of Sandra Day O’Conner High School in Helotes, TX. When asked to describe Meagan, the word Passion repeatedly comes to mind. She was relentlessly passionate about her faith and her belief that GOD provided all, including her strength needed to fight so hard. Her smile and joy was contagious and her passion to live life to the fullest never stopped. Meagan had a love for dance, loved being outdoors, and of course, being with her "Darlin". Her love for her family and her soulmate Steve carried her through life, as it will in Heaven. She will be missed immensely.

Survivors include: fiancé Steve Smith of Woodbine; parents Brian and Mary Flaherty of San Antonio; brother Jason Hanson and wife Bridgette of Axtell; sister Heather Osorio and husband Jorge of Cumming, GA; sister Chelsea Jewett and husband Trey of Helotes; sister Hannah Flaherty of San Antonio; nieces and nephews: Brandon, Bobby, Steven, Noel, Aiden, and Sophia; grandparents: Mary Flaherty of CA and Mary Hanson of Irving, TX; her beloved Babz (Darlin’); mother- and father-in-law Armon and Judy Smith of Woodbine; grandmother-in-law Kathleen Spruiell of Iowa Park; brother-in-law Christopher Smith of Gainesville; sister-in-law Jamie Winters and husband Brian of Woodbine; and nieces and nephews: Clayton and Caroline Winters.
