Funeral services for Lloyd Yarbrough, 79, of Lindsay, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Luther Slay officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at the funeral home.
Mr. Yarbrough passed away September 5, 2016 in Gainesville.
Lloyd was born June 30, 1937 in Pilot Point to Alpha and Ruthye (Robinson) Yarbrough. He was raised in Pilot Point and Gainesville. Mr. Yarbrough worked at Brown Motor Company in Gainesville and was a passionate musician; he was the drummer for The Ramblers for 37 years. Mr. Yarbrough cherished, most of all, the time he spent with family, children, grandchildren.
Survivors include: wife Shirley Jean Yarbrough of Lindsay; son Dale Holder of Gainesville; son Kent Yarbrough and wife Carol of Denton; son Mark Yarbrough of Denton; daughter Pam Hart and husband Charles of McKinney; daughter Tamra Selvitella and husband Jim of Petaluma, CA; grandchildren: Lincoln, Jennifer, Jodi, Madison, Sydney, and Ethan; four great-grandchildren; sister Minnie Jo Secrest of Keller; sister Oleta Norris and husband Junior of Denton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by: his parents; brother J.D. Yarbrough; brother M.B. Yarbrough; brother Alpha Yarbrough, II; brother Kenneth Yarbrough; brother Boyd Yarbrough; sister Juanita Berend; and granddaughter Jamie Cummins.
