Jeffrey Steven Marcellus

Funeral services for Jeffrey Steven Marcellus, 65, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew Collingsworth officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hibbitt Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Marcellus was born on September 24, 1955 in Portland, OR to George Arthur Marcellus and Yvonne Louise (Ostrander) Marcellus.  He went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 18, 2021 in Gainesville.

Jeff graduated from Benson High School in Portland, OR in 1973.  Later he graduated from the University of Phoenix with an associate’s degree.  He retired from his life-long career as a truck driver for Active USA.

On March 28, 2006, Mr. Marcellus married the love of his life, Carole Ann.  They loved to travel and spend time together at their home in Arizona.  He loved sailing, riding motorcycles, and playing golf.  He had a love for vintage cars.  He was an active member and technician for the Sports Car Club of America.

Jeff is survived by his wife Carol (Harrison) Marcellus of Gainesville: son Christopher Marcellus and his wife Kimberlee of Ocala, FL; daughter Nicole Marcellus of Henderson, NV; daughter Nina Marcellus of Henderson, NV; nine grandchildren.  He is also survived by his mother Yvonne Marcellus of Tigard, OR; brother Greg Marcellus and his wife Kimberly of Tigard, OR brother Gary Marcellus of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Marcellus was preceded in death by his father and his step-son Trey Caraway.

Pallbearers will be Gary Marcellus, Greg Marcellus, Chris Marcellus, Mitchell Shauf, Bobby Harrison, and Jordan Gilbreath.  Honorary pallbearers are JR Jeffcoat, John Hughes, Danny Hines, and Gregory Gilbreath.
