Joe Lawrence Shults

Funeral service for Joe Lawrence Shults, 69, of Gainesville, is set for 10:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the New Resthaven Cemetery in Gainesville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday, 9:00 AM at the funeral home.

Joe was born in Menard, Texas on May 5, 1950 to Wilbur Wright Shults and Effie Marie (Stevens) Cunningham. He passed away on September 1, 2019 in Muenster, Texas.

Joe is survived by his wife Connie Shults of Gainesville; daughter Sarah Dodd and her husband Jeramey of Marietta, OK; daughter Robin Ravert of Gainesville; step-daughter Terri Minzey and her husband Charles of Shreveport, LA; step-daughter Angela Haynes and her husband Martin of Bossier City, LA; step-son Dana Beck and his wife Suzi of Shreveport, LA; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Porter of Gainesville; brother Stephen Shults and his wife Earlene of Thackerville, OK; brother Roy Cunningham and his wife Ellen of Gainesville;  and sister Karen Ellis and her husband Vep of Thackerville, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Steve Shults, Roy Cunningham, Dana Beck, Nicholas Shults, Tyler Vincent, Joseph Ravert, and Dakota Darfler
