Julian "Jute" L. Shufelt

Julian "Jute" L. Shufelt of Era, Texas passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born on May 13th 1947 and was the son of the late Julian and Cornelia Schuck Shufelt. Jute was a 1966 graduate of Groton Central School and a proud Vietnam Veteran who was a long-time member of Groton Legion Post 800, the Moravia Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Gainesville, TX VFW. He enjoyed working on cars and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Jute retired from Peterbilt after many years of service in Texas. Survivors include close friend, Terri Roberts of Texas; son, Jon Shufelt and daughter, Megan (Felipe) Sostre from New York (NY); sisters, Francis Shufelt of Arizona, Phyllis Sims of NY, and Connie Feirick of Arizona; and brother, Phillip Schuck of Kansas; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jute was pre-deceased by his twin sister, Mary Lou; sister, Betty Roscioli; and brother, Larry Shufelt. Services will be Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2 PM at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 3332 N. Grand Ave., Gainesville TX 76240 with Rev. Robert J. Kelley officiating.
