Robert “Bob” Chester Grober, age 89, longtime resident of Bedford, most recently of Prosper, passed away April 26, 2022 in Prosper.
Mr. Grober was born September 1, 1932 in Chicago Illinois. After graduating high school, he served active duty in the US Air Force during the Korean War and had a lengthy military career including the Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard. In 2002, with over 50 years of aviation experience, Bob was awarded the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award from the FAA. He enjoyed volunteering at the Ft. Worth Aviation Museum as well as participating in the local Aeroclub.
Bob married the love of his life Patsy Morris in 1957 and celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to her death in 2011.
Mr. Grober was preceded in death by: wife, Patsy (Morris) Grober; parents, Chester and Margaret (Swedberg) Grober; sisters: Marge, Corinne, and Shirley; and grandson, Daniel Grober.
Survivors include: son, Ronald Grober and wife, Maureen of Northwood, NH; daughter, Penny Lutz and husband, Steve of Meridian, ID; daughter, Pattie Wright and husband, Prentiss of Prosper; daughter, Pam Oler and husband, Cory of Thackerville, OK; grandchildren: Erin, Kelly, Rachel, Tyler, Ryan, Jordan, Baylea, Zachary, and Ashley; and great-grandchildren: Daniel, Collin, Ezra, Parker, Keegan, Annabelle, Hadleigh, Cason, Claire, Chloe, and Ace.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. Interment with military honors will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Bulcher. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at the funeral home.
